Kevin Smith, the founder and principal of SMITH STRATEGICS, has created and developed the curriculum of an advanced threat assessment training class for mass casualty attack prevention which has been certified by the California Commission in Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).
Smith’s advanced threat assessment training is more specialized and involves in-depth instruction in the methodology of
- how to identify individuals who pose a threat of targeted or terrorist violence
- how to effectively investigate these individuals
- how to properly assess the level of risk posed by these individuals of violent attack and
- how to select an appropriate threat management strategy based on a specific factual scenario and how to monitor the effectiveness of that threat management strategy.
As part of the advanced threat assessment training, Smith conducts Interactive Threat Simulations™ training for threat assessment teams, organizational security stakeholders, and others with protective intelligence responsibilities, as well as law enforcement and military personnel.
These Interactive Threat Simulations™ are specialized training exercises which allow personnel to conduct real time threat assessments involving reality-based behavioral threat scenarios. This training allows attendees to develop their evidence-based threat assessment and protective intelligence capabilities in the most realistic scenarios.
Each Interactive Threat Simulation™ is created specifically and tailored for the audience attending that particular exercise so that attendees can train on the behavioral threat scenarios they are most likely to encounter when carrying out their responsibilities.
