As a federal counterterrorism prosecutor for the United States Department of Justice, Kevin Smith led and directed Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTFs) in the investigation of U.S. State Department designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) and violent extremists radicalizing and operating here in the United States.
Smith couples his counterterrorism expertise and real world practical experience with academic level and in-depth research into the threat of transnational terrorism and U.S.-based violent extremism. This enables him to provide specialized and advanced counterterrorism training courses for stakeholders who have protective intelligence and security responsibilities within their organizations and communities.
These courses are listed on the Home page of this website as they are offered and include domestic violent extremists (DVE) and sovereign citizen violent extremists (SCVE) training courses which have been certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).
